I've only been bitten once since the last time we spoke...

Hey!

So the title is true. I have been bitten by a camper since we last spoke. I was doing a restraint on a child who's meds had worn off, or had been given the wrong dose, or something. Needless to say he was not happy, and the restraint didn't make him any happier. As a result I was bitten. Luckily I was wearing a hoodie, and it was not that hard of a bite. No harm, no foul I suppose. Besides being bitten, the worst that has happened to me was a few kicks and punches. Nothing too bad.

In other news, I was supposed to go to the yankee game yesterday, but someone (my father) did not check the date on the tickets! Long story short, we're waiting online to get into the stadium and my dad realizes, "oh, these tickets are for tomorrow's game." So we just left, and moved on. Kind of disappointing, but they lost anyway so I'm okay with keeping my yankee stadium record at 1-2, rather than 1-3. And at least i didn't miss a perfect game or something.

until next time,
Michael W.

The Pee Story

Today at camp was absolutely ridiculous, and i must tell you all about it.

Scene 1: Boys Locker Room after swimming.
Context: Most of the children have already changed. There are three children left in the locker room. One of the children has been given a time out but must change first. the other two are just extremely slow changers.

Time Out Child is taking a very long time to change, and is now nude.
Child: I am going to pee.
Counselor: Please Do not pee.
-Child leans back, then proceeds to urinate on locker room floor.

Thats not even the worst part.
Next, other child who is taking long to change, decides to go jump and play in the pee puddle. He then proceeds to slip and fall into the pee puddle. He is removed from pee and is told to change. He then goes back into the pee puddle and slips again. Is then whisked away to rinse off in the shower. Child who peed then decides to throw the child's clothes and things who was playing in the pee, into the pee. So one child's clothing, and swim goggles ended up in a pile of pee.

Unbelievable. Hope it was funny. When you see me next i can act out the story which makes it much funnier.
enjoy your week.

love,
Michael

Hello

I don't know how to describe my lack of blogging activity without making it sound as though I'm insulting the people who actually do blog/are on Twitter, so I won't. However, I will say that I am not, for the most part, against bloggers and such; I've just found fewer and fewer reasons for me to be writing. That having been said, here we go.

It took a little longer than I would have liked, but I've finally started my first book of the summer: The Stand by Stephen King (recommended by Claire). I will probably be asking for recommendations from everyone because I honestly have no idea where to start when it comes to finding a book to read. Hopefully that will change within the next few months.

I finally made it to the Met today (I'd never been before), but I didn't go in because it was a beautiful day out and Claire and I were entranced by a quintet (4 vocals, 1 upright-bassist) performing out front. In conclusion, I have yet to go inside of a New York museum. However, it did make me wish I were in some sort of an a Capella Motown barbershop quartet.

Finally, to all of the other 5 readers of this blog (that's honestly the number of people I imagine are still reading this), yes, I am legitimately upset about Michael Jackson's death. When I heard the news, it wasn't a matter of whether I cared or not. For me, it was a matter of why I felt as cared as I did; the feeling I got when his death was finally confirmed was something that I couldn't reason out at all. I'm still trying to figure out exactly why I feel so affected by it. I wanted to write about it, but I figure the only thing people want to hear about less than his death is people writing about his death. To be honest though, I think I'm still going to. If anything, it's to make me feel better about it.

-Mai
